The Smallest Bar In The Room.

Can cuteness be a complication?

We're here to prove, yes.

This is Corum in the 1980s doing something only they would dare—taking a proper investment-grade gold bar and shrinking it down to a size that almost feels like a April fool's at first glance. Except it isn’t. This is the 2.5 gram ingot variant. Not the 5, not the 10, not the 20. The smallest one. And we’ve never come across one before.

What you’re looking at is a solid 24 karat gold bar, stamped, signed, and left almost entirely untouched, then framed inside an 18 karat yellow gold case. The proportions are what pull you in. At roughly 14mm by 22mm, it sits somewhere between jewelry and watch, but leans into both.

There’s no traditional crown interrupting the silhouette. Time is set discreetly through a pusher on the caseback, which allows the front to remain uninterrupted—just gold, markings, and two hands floating over it. The result is clean, direct, and a little bit surreal.

Despite its size, it carries surprising weight. Around 18 grams on the wrist, dense in that way only gold can be. You feel it more than you expect, which only adds to the experience.

“Technically an investment. Emotionally, a problem.”

And then there’s the way it wears. Small, yes. But not fragile. It has presence in a way that doesn’t rely on size. On a smaller wrist, it reads elegant. On a larger one, it becomes a conversation before you’ve even said a word.

The current shift toward smaller dainty watches has brought a lot of things back into focus. Proportion. Restraint. Detail. This just takes it further than most. It doesn’t follow the trend, it outplays it.
