Love Comes Full Circle.
Paris in the 1950s understood romance rather well. A good love story called for dinner, dancing and, ideally, enough 18k gold to circle the wrist.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Ronde Lady carries its circular theme from the 16mm case through every link of its bracelet. Large gold loops are joined by smaller paired rings, creating a pattern that continues around the wrist and absorbs the clasp almost entirely. Once fastened, it becomes difficult to see where the bracelet begins or ends. An infinity motif without resorting to anything as obvious as an infinity symbol.
At its centre is a beautifully preserved sector dial with a brushed silver centre, a white chapter ring and alternating Arabic numerals and baton markers. The blued-steel hands provide the perfect bit of contrast, while the back-winding manual movement leaves the round case uninterrupted by a conventional crown.
The case and bracelet were made in France and bear French eagle’s-head hallmarks for 18k gold, along with the EJ maker’s stamp associated with Edmond Jaeger. That French provenance matters. Jaeger’s partnership with LeCoultre brought Parisian design and Swiss watchmaking together, while his long relationship with Cartier helped define an entire generation of refined jewellery watches. The family resemblance here is easy to spot.
The gold has developed a warm, even patina over the decades, giving the bracelet the feeling of something already loved and carefully kept. At 39.89 grams, it has enough substance to feel like a proper piece of jewellery while retaining the small scale that makes mid-century women’s watches so charming.
For anyone drawn to vintage Cartier bracelet watches, this offers entry into the same world of French goldwork and miniature mechanical watchmaking at a considerably friendlier price. Love may be complicated, but this one is simply wound from the back.

The watch is in excellent vintage condition with a warm, even patina throughout.
The 18k yellow-gold case shows light age-appropriate wear and retains its French eagle’s-head hallmark.
The original silver and white sector dial is very well preserved with clear Jaeger-LeCoultre printing.
The caseback clearly retains its serial number, the EJ maker’s stamp and French gold hallmarks.
The blued-steel hands remain attractive and the mineral glass is clear.
The original 18k yellow-gold loop bracelet is in excellent condition, measures 17.5cm laid flat and fits wrists up to approximately 6.5 inches.
The back-winding manual movement has been serviced and is keeping accurate time.
