Piaget Limelight Triangle Pavé Diamonds

Piaget appears to have sent a triangle into orbit sometime in the early 2000s, and we’re very pleased it found its way back. This Limelight takes a familiar shape and gives it a wonderfully improbable form, with an 18k white gold case that rises and curves like a pastry puffing up in the oven. Covered in pavé diamonds across the bezel and dial, it looks ready for a very glamorous space programme.

There’s something of a rounded Scandinavian coffee table about its outline, translated into a 29mm watch you can actually wear. The corners soften, the sides swell, and the faceted triangular sapphire follows the case with a raised top and angled sides. That crystal is central to the whole effect: the triangle has depth, almost as though it’s lifting off your wrist.

Piaget tucked both the strap attachments and the time-setting control beneath the case, giving the triangle an uninterrupted outline. The side view is particularly good: the diamond-set surface swells upward like pastry rising in the oven, while the three facets of the triangular sapphire carry that volume across the dial. On the wrist, the glossy black alligator strap makes the whole thing look like a small, diamond-covered spacecraft coming in to land.

For collectors drawn to unusual case shapes, this is a particularly enjoyable corner of neo-vintage Piaget. Its futuristic form still feels fresh, while the quartz movement keeps everyday ownership straightforward. This example is exceptionally well preserved and comes with its original booklets. A small visitor from the 2000s with excellent taste in jewellery.
