The Swiss Flower That Bloomed.

Spring usually arrives with flowers and color again. Piaget, naturally, interpreted that idea through woven gold, hard stones, and one of the most beautifully decorated little bracelet watches.

It’s tiny, delicate, precious in the hand, yet somehow packed with nearly every material Piaget became famous for during the 1970s and 80s. Yellow gold, diamonds, sapphires, mother of pearl, hand-finished chain work, and tucked inside all of it, a proper ultra-thin mechanical movement.

You can tell this came from the era when Piaget fully leaned into becoming the house of gold. Not gold as a simple case material, but gold as jewelry, texture, decoration, and craftsmanship all at once. The bracelet alone could have existed as a standalone piece. Each rope-style link is tightly woven and beautifully fluid, forming a double strand that drapes around the wrist almost like fabric. It has that distinctly European kind of glamour where everything feels elegant without becoming stiff or overstyled.

Then your eye lands on the case.

The shape sits somewhere between an elongated oval and a softened baignoire, framed with large brilliant-cut diamonds that almost resemble flower petals wrapping around the dial. At the four corners sit deep blue sapphires, cut thick and rich enough to immediately stand apart from the usual thin accent stones you often see on jewelry watches from the period. Against the warm 18k yellow gold, they completely change the mood of the piece. Suddenly the watch feels sharper, dressier, a little more Paris after dark.

“Piaget looked at a jewelry watch and decided adding fewer details simply wasn’t on the agenda.”

And the dial might honestly be the best part.

White mother of pearl already has enough character on its own, but Piaget scattered diamond indexes across it almost like droplets floating on water. Depending on the light, the dial shifts between cream, silver, pale pink, and soft lavender tones. It gives the entire watch a sense of movement before the hands even begin to turn.

What makes this piece especially satisfying for collectors is what sits inside it. Piaget could have easily gone quartz here. Most brands would have. Instead, this watch houses the ultra-thin manual-wound caliber 4P1, a movement that feels properly deserving of the exterior surrounding it. It keeps the case slim, elegant, and incredibly refined on the wrist without sacrificing the charm that only comes from a mechanical watch.

There’s also something refreshing about how wearable it remains despite how decorative it is. The case is small, the bracelet airy, and the overall profile incredibly graceful. It feels less like a heavy cocktail watch and more like a finely made piece of gold jewelry.

Honestly, this thing borders on unfair.

A small Swiss flower that decided to bloom.

The watch is presented in excellent overall condition.

The 18k yellow gold oval case retains crisp edges with beautifully preserved diamond settings and richly saturated blue sapphires at each corner.

The white mother of pearl dial is clean and vibrant with excellent lustre with no cracks or chips.

The caseback retains its original Piaget engravings and reference numbers with light surface wear consistent with age.

The crystal and hands are clean.

The woven double-rope bracelet remains supple and well preserved with a secure signed clasp, fitting wrists up to approximately 6 inches.

The manual-wound Piaget caliber 4P1 movement is running well and keeping accurate time.
