Thin Air, Thick Detail.

Vacheron Constantin didn’t just skeletonize this movement—they filleted it. What’s left is a razor-thin mid-size gold dress watch that somehow fits a cathedral’s worth of hand engraving into a sliver of real estate thinner than most credit cards. It’s not just a watch you wear. It’s one you stare at when meetings drag or drinks run long.

This is the Vacheron Constantin reference 33114, built around the ultra-thin, hand-wound Caliber 1003SQ, a movement that traces its roots back to 1955 and still holds court as one of the thinnest mechanical calibers ever made. The entire movement is hand-skeletonized and engraved, revealing everything from the gear train to the escapement in full, voyeuristic glory. It’s not the kind of detail you can print or machine. This is artisan-level finishing: beveling, black polish, gold engraving, and bridges so airy they look like someone lace-cut a Swiss 5-franc coin.

Let’s talk layout. The chapter ring—engraved and black-painted—is clean, subtle, and completely circular. Which is perfect, because it sets the stage for the chaos party going on inside. The contrast is deliberate: minimalism around the edge, maximalism at the core.

“It’s like someone took a Geneva Seal movement, put it through an engraving contest, and forgot to add a dial. Lucky us.”

Just above center, the barrel bridge has been cut into the shape of a Maltese Cross, Vacheron’s long-time logo. It’s clever. It’s structural. It’s on-brand without being loud about it. It also supports the ratchet wheel, which you’ll see in motion every time you wind the thing.

Another detail we like is that the Vacheron Constantin logo is printed on the underside of the crystal, creating the illusion it’s floating above the movement. It’s a neat visual trick that reinforces the watch’s core theme: lightness, transparency, elevation. That logo floats just like the rest of the watch does on your wrist.

The specs? A 30mm yellow gold case, just over 32mm including the crown, and 4.4mm thin. It’s fitted on a Vacheron Constantin black alligator strap with a matching 18K gold Maltese Cross buckle. The movement runs at 18,000 vph, has a 31-hour power reserve, and was adjusted in five positions—not bad for a movement that’s essentially see-through.

If your idea of a power move is subtlety in plain sight—and you’d rather impress someone across a candlelit table than a boardroom—this might be the one.

The watch is in excellent condition.

The original case lines are present, not overpolished and have light scratches throughout.

The case hallmarks, serial engravings are deep and sharp.

The skeleton dial is pristine. There is very light fading of the brushed finish around 7'o clock.

The crystal and hands have no blemishes to note.

The Vacheron alligator strap is in very strong condition, with little previous wear.
