A Tank That Let the Edges Go.

This is what happens when a Tank loses its straight lines.

Jaeger LeCoultre took the familiar rectangular form and eased the entire case. The sides curve inward, the corners round off, and the profile feels almost fluid. It has that late 60s into 70s design language where everything started to soften, whether it was furniture, cars, or interiors that leaned a little more futuristic while still grounded in the era.

You still recognize the lineage. The proportions, the stance on the wrist, the overall silhouette all nod to the classic Tank formula. But here, everything has been gently reinterpreted. It wears wider than expected at 27 by 30mm, giving it a presence that feels more modern than the era suggests.

The dial brings everything back into focus. Clean white surface, painted line indices, and a set of strong dauphine hands that give the watch its structure. There’s a nice balance here.

“When a classic shape loosens up a bit, this is what happens.”

If you’ve spent time around Cartier Tanks, this sits in that same world, just approached from a different angle. And often at a far more approachable entry point.

For decades, Jaeger was the movement makers behind some of the most recognizable names in watchmaking. The quiet engine room of the industry. Pieces like this feel like moments where they stepped out and allowed themselves to explore design a little more freely.

Overall very good vintage condition with little signs of wear consistent with age.

The 18k yellow gold case shows light surface wear with soft edges remaining well defined and unpolished in appearance.

The dial is clean with small signs of aging around 3 o clock. It retains strong contrast between the white surface and black indices.

The caseback displays visible serial and reference engravings with light wear and minor surface marks.

The hands are in excellent condition with no visible degradation and the crystal shows light surface wear consistent with use.

The black alligator strap shows noticeable wear and creasing. Paired with an original Jaeger-LeCoultre signed buckle with visible patina.

The manual-wound movement is running and functioning as expected.
