Walk into a beautifully furnished home in the mid-1970s and you start noticing a pattern.

At first glance, the dial almost disappears. Not because it's small, but because your eye is immediately drawn to the shape surrounding it. The case swells outward into an elongated oval with four soft points, creating something that feels part watch, part jewel. Crafted entirely from 18k yellow gold, the bracelet stretches to 18.5cm and weighs approximately 87 grams. The mirror-finished gold dial is the watch's secret weapon. In direct light it reflects like a polished piece of jewelry, pulling in the colours and movement around it. Turn your wrist slightly and the dial can shift from bright gold to nearly black, acting more like a mirror than a traditional dial. It gives the watch a constantly changing appearance, making the same piece feel different from one moment to the next.

Among vintage collectors, Chopard remains one of the most underappreciated creative forces of the era. While much of the attention falls on Piaget, Chopard was producing equally imaginative work during the 1960s and 1970s. Their designs often pushed further into organic forms and unconventional proportions, which makes pieces like this feel remarkably fresh today.

The Tiffany & Co. signature is central to the story. Throughout the twentieth century, Tiffany partnered with many of Switzerland's finest manufacturers, commissioning watches for its clientele and curating collections that reflected its own taste. This design came from Chopard, one of the era's most creative houses, and was selected to sit under the Tiffany banner. The pairing feels entirely natural.

The watch itself feels surprisingly modern despite being nearly half a century old. The open bracelet structure has a visual lightness, while the gold weight reminds you that this is very much a serious piece of jewelry. It sits somewhere between a cuff, a bangle, and a watch, which is precisely why it remains so compelling.
