Femme Fatale.

Vacheron Constantin built its reputation on elegant dress watches, perpetual calendars and some of the finest movements ever made. Which is exactly why I enjoy finding the references that collectors rarely talk about.

This is one of them.

I've handled plenty of integrated bracelet watches over the years, but this is the first Vacheron Constantin I've encountered with a design quite like this. The bracelet immediately caught my attention. Each polished link overlaps the next like sculpted cobra scales, wrapping effortlessly around the wrist before flowing into the case. It has the same kind of magnetism as the person who's somehow always the most interesting one in the room without ever asking for the attention.

What impresses me most isn't the bracelet itself. It's how everyone involved committed to the same idea. The goldsmith developed this remarkable scale motif, the case maker carried it into the elliptical silhouette, and the dial maker resisted every temptation to interrupt it. Instead, the mirror-polished dial simply continues the pattern. Printing the signature on the crystal rather than the dial leaves the entire surface uninterrupted, allowing the bracelet and dial to become one continuous composition.

The proportions are equally satisfying. At just 17mm wide, the softly rounded case swells gently before tapering back into the bracelet, almost like the waist of a vintage Coca-Cola bottle. There are no harsh transitions or obvious joints. Everything flows naturally from one component to the next.

"It looks like it could bite. Fortunately, it only tells the time."

Turning the watch over reveals another detail collectors will appreciate. Inside is Vacheron Constantin's manual-wound Calibre 1430, wound discreetly through the caseback so the profile remains perfectly clean. It's an unexpected pleasure in a bracelet watch of this size, and one that feels entirely appropriate given the thought invested everywhere else.

Even the clasp wasn't treated as an afterthought. Vacheron finished it with its signature Maltese Cross, set with a single diamond at its centre. It's a tiny sparkle, almost like the final button left undone before walking out the door.

Crafted in solid 18k yellow gold and weighing just over 58 grams, the watch has genuine substance in the hand while remaining wonderfully elegant on the wrist. The sharp French eagle head hallmarks confirm it was imported for the French market, adding another layer to its story.

The more vintage Vacheron Constantins I handle, the more convinced I become that the catalogue is far deeper than most collectors give it credit for. Everyone knows the masterpieces. Pieces like this are the reward for looking past them.

Overall, the watch presents in excellent vintage condition with crisp finishing throughout.

The solid 18k yellow gold case remains sharp with light signs of careful wear and very well-defined French eagle head hallmarks.

The original mirror gold dial is exceptionally clean with crisp printed signature on the crystal and matching dauphine hands.

The caseback retains Vacheron Constantin engravings, reference and serial numbers, with the manual-winding crown operating smoothly.

The mineral crystal is clean with only negligible signs of wear.

The original integrated 18k yellow gold bracelet remains tight and well preserved, retaining its diamond-set Maltese Cross clasp and fitting wrists up to approximately 6.6 inches.

The manual-wound is running well at the time of photography.
